YOU’RE INVITED!
Creating a BEAD STEW bracelet is perfect for a group setting because this project doesn’t require intense concentration, which means that you can still be social with your fellow participants, at the same time as creating your bracelet… Fun, or what?!
At every Serendipity BEAD STEW Class, both public and private, included with your purchase of a bracelet-making kit, you’ll receive FREE expert instruction and design help with the creation of your one-of-a-kind “Bangle-icious” Bracelet, plus it’s always great to be inspired by other attendees.
The next Serendipity BEAD STEW Bracelet Making Class is happening on SUNDAY, MARCH 15, 1-4PM, at A & B Fiberworks, with limited spaces available.
FOR MORE DETAILS, please continue reading below...
A & B Fiberworks is a retail store located at the Crossroads Market (which is where the BEAD STEW CLASS is being held on January 19), as well as a fibre farm and fibre processing mill that is located approximately 100 kms north and east of Calgary, near the town of Linden.
Shown above and on the right, is the owner of A & B Fiberworks, Anne Goodwin-Estes. Anne has been involved with spinning and weaving fibre arts since 1979, was an avid knitter before that time, and she enjoys all aspects of working with fibre, including operating her fibre farm for the last 20 years.
On the left is Anna, who is an extraordinary felting artist, and she also teaches and works part time for Anne at the A & B Fiberworks store.
In the centre of the photo collage above, is Ian, who is another felting artist featured at A & B Fiberworks. Every weekend, Ian demonstrates the art of felting, while making his whimsical, and very detailed, felted figures, bottle covers, dryer balls, etc., so be sure to check out Ian’s pieces the next time you’re at the Crossroads Market.
On either side of Ian, are PICs of some of Anna’s gorgeous creations… shawls, scarves… her colour combinations are fabulous, and wearable art pieces are exquisite!
So, meanwhile back at Anne's Fibre Farm, all kinds of fibre-related activities are happening!
Anne raises some sheep, with exotic-sounding breed names such as: "CVM, BFL and BFL cross sheep”.
I’m not sure which breed of sheep is shown above, but his name is “ABE”. Isn’t he handsome?!
Anne raises Alpacas too. She currently has approximately 65 of these incredibly adorable animals at her Fibre Farm.
Not all of them have names, but the cutie on the left is “Tarzan”. Anne tells me that they’re very shy creatures, but maybe not so for the curious one on the far right.
The sheep and alpacas are sheared once a year.
All of the fibre is then sorted, washed and processed in the fibre mill into roving and yarns, which are available for sale at Anne’s shop at the Crossroads Market in Calgary.
Anne also does custom processing for other fibre processing farms from all over Canada.
In addition to her own custom fibres, Anne also stocks cotton, tencel, bamboo, cotton chenille, linen and other fibres from a Canadian company called “Brassard”.
A & B Fiberworks is a dealer for the Canadian weaving equipment company “LeClerc”, spinning and weaving equipment by “Louet” and “Ashford”.
As well, Anne carries the supplies for both needle and wet felting techniques.
With all of the colourful yarns at A & B Fiberworks, I think it’ll prove to be inspiring surroundings to create a Serendipity BEAD STEW “Bangle-icious” Bracelet at my Bead Stew Class on Sunday, January 19, 1-4PM!
BTW… To register for YOUR SPOT in the upcoming Bead Stew Class at A & B Fiberworks, please see the details at the bottom of this Blog Post :-)

A BIG "Thank You" to everyone who attended the Suzie Q STERLING SILVER SALE!!! If you missed out on my Two-Part STERLING SILVER SALE, don't worry... I've got some fab news!...
I figured how to squeeze the entire Sterling Silver collection into my cozy shop, so GOOD NEWS... the SALE is EXTENDED until I close my "Physical Location" at the Crossroads Market... YAY!
That means the sale is on from NOW until SUNDAY, JULY 28TH at 5PM!
Shown in the images above & below, plus the following video are just a small sampling of the FAB Sterling Silver items that will be available at 50% OFF UNTIL SUNDAY, JULY 28th at the Crossroads Market location of SUZIE Q STUDIO!
Isn't it incredible to think that each and every one of these miniature art-pieces are individually handcrafted... WOW, right?!
Shown in the video above are just SOME of the unique and fabulous Sterling Silver jewelry-making beads, components and findings in my HUGE STASH that will be available on SALE at 50% OFF*. (*some exclusions may apply)
PLEASE NOTE: In most cases with the items shown in these images, more quantities of each style will be available, while quantities last. 😊
Isn't the detailing extraordinary?!
"HILL TRIBE" silver of Northern Thailand, technically speaking, isn't "sterling silver" because it has a higher content of Pure or Fine silver than sterling silver.
Sterling Silver is 92.5% fine silver, with 7.5% of another metal, usually copper, to make the fine silver metal harder, which is what can also cause tarnishing with sterling silver.
"Hill Tribe" silver is between 99.5 and 99.9 fine (pure) silver, with the solder being the only non fine silver used in creating Hill Tribe Silver beads, components and jewellery, plus, it usually doesn't tarnish, or very little.
There are a lot of style differences between Hill Tribe silver components and silver pieces made in other countries, which I can point out when you're at either of my sales... just as ask me if you're interested. 😊
Shown above is a "Karen" Hill Tribe woman with her child... She's wearing some fabulous bangles, don't you think?
Hill Tribe peoples are nomadic tribes that can be traced back to the 12th century. It's a fascinating story that you can read about by CLICKING on this >>> HILL TRIBE PEOPLE.
The toggle-style clasps shown in this image, along with more styles, are all available at 50% OFF!
I also have some extraordinary sterling silver "box clasps"* and other unique closures and components that are available at my Sterling Silver sale, although they'll be at regular prices and NOT included at 50% OFF.
BTW... FORMS OF PAYMENT at Suzie Q's Silver Sale are: Cash, Debit, Visa or MasterCard. Also please note that the pieces shown here may no longer be available -- that's why you should come early for the best selection.😊
I hope you'll pop by Suzie Q Studio to say Hi and check out all our fabulous SALES before we close our "physical location" on July 28th, 2019.

The Calgary Spring Fibre Fest was tons of fun on Mother's Day weekend, with super-talented Robin Howard providing FREE, expert instruction for some "Moms & Daughters" to make their own Serendipity BEAD STEW "Bangle-icious" Bracelets!
Our Serendipity BEAD STEW Kits have been out for only a month and a half and every single finished bracelet that I've seen has looked fantastic, so I do believe that it's impossible to create a bracelet that doesn't look awesome because the bead combos are so yummy!
See BELOW to see some more of the fabulous bracelets created at the Spring Fibre Fest --->
Shown on the left, "Blueberry Custard Pie" and on the right, "Earl Grey Lavender Tea"... aren't they scrumptious-looking?!
Pictured below and on the left is "Copper Pot Snake Soup" --- a bit of a quirky name, I know :-) --- and on the right, "Southwest Chickpea Stew". It's hard to believe that neither Mother or Daughter has ever made jewelry before, right?
In case you don't already know... our Serendipity BEAD STEW, easy jewelry-making kits, are combinations of premium quality beads and components from all over the world that are artfully and individually "hand-picked", in limited edition quantities, at my non-public studio in Inglewood, Calgary.
We save you the time and stress of gathering a unique and wonderful assortment of jewelry-making supplies, so that you can get to the fun part of creating your bracelet right away - total instant gratification with professional, one-of-a-kind results.

PLEASE NOTE: With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Suzie Q Studio is no longer offering Serendipity BEAD STEW classes, home parties and public events; however, our jewelry-making kits are perfect for your own “at home” BEAD STEW Party or for getting crafty with your friends over Zoom.
Being creative in any way, is essential to your health and well-being, so whether you’re doing “The Stew” on your own, or with friends and family, I wish you heaps of good creative fun!
